Introduction

In this section I describe several important concepts that should be familiar to all Unix users. In later sections I describe some common Unix utilities and the standard Unix shell program (the Bourne Shell). I assume you are familiar with Windows. Note that the Unix community typically uses the word "directory" where the Windows community uses the word "folder."
